Good day for you folks from Lebanon!

As an Arabic individual, I use two speech synthesizers Tiflotecnia
voices for NVDA and Acapela TTS Voices for NVDA. Electing Acapela to
be my first speech synthesizer when NVDA is loaded and configuring my
settings from General, the first NVDA list item and using currently
saved settings during sign-in and on secure screens, when I shut down
my system then relaunch it, it returns back when NVDA is loaded as it
is my main screen-reader for the time being it reverts back to
tiflotecnia voices for NVDA. Do you think that I must consult Acapela
concerning that issue? Your suggestions are highly appreciated.

Have a pleasant evening,

Do you have the option to save configurations on exit checked?

Good day Rui and all from Lebanon once more!

Finally, I solved the problem mentioned in the subject line of this
mail on my laptop that I'm writing you this mail from by the following
method and will do the same on my desktop.

When I configured my settings to my liking and before coping them and
while being in my windows same session, I exited NVDA then reloaded it,
shut down my system then launched it so the current settings were saved.

I did this same thing yesterday, and NVDA still did not keep the settings when computer was rebooted after exiting and reopening NVDA. Hopefully, hitting Enter on both Apply and OK will do it.
Thanks,
Nance

There is a default setting in NVDA to save settings on exit.  You don't
have to shut down NVDA nor reboot Windows.  There is a short cut in
NVDA, in English versions, it is NVDA control c that saves settings when
NVDA is running.  In the English version, you hear configuration saved
after you issue it.  I don't know if the command is the same in
localized versions in different languages.

When in the settings dialog, pressing apply sets NVDA to use the new settings and leave the dialog open.  Press OK sets NVDA to use the new settings and closes the dialog - but neither actually SAVE the settings.  As Gene noted - press NVDA+control+c to save your settings.  By default, NVDA is set to save settings on exit, but if you've specifically setup NVDA how you want it, there isn't any harm in manually saving just to be sure - it is also worth checking in general settings to see whether "Save configuration on exit" is checked.  If it is checked and your settings still aren't being saved, we can certainly look into why

It isn't command control. It is the general settings. NVDA key control
g or if you open settings from the menu,, the first category of settings.

Good morning Gene and all from Lebanon!

Thanks for this command which I have never fallen on it before, hope to
land on it in the NVDA user guide which I'm reading it successively.
But I really feel Gene that this command has no effect at all if the
option Save configuration when exiting NVDA is always checked as with
my case, am I exact Gene? And as well, it has nothing to do with Use
currently saved settings during sign-in and on secure screens right?

Have a pleasant weekend,

Yes. But I gave the command in case it wasn't checked, in which case,
every time you close NVDA or Windows shuts down when it is running, All
new sessions would be lost made during the current session unless you
manually save them before closing.

One reason to have the setting off is so you can experiment with
different settings to see if you like them and not have the new settings
accidentally saved if you want to go back to the old settings.
