When I first start my computer, NVDA doesn't seem to be honoring the setting to beep for progress bars and show progress bars in the background. I have to close/reopen NVDA, and then all is well. Can you come up with a settings issue that would cause this? NVDA 2025.3.2, Windows 11 pro 25h2.

Replying late, but it doesn't look like anyone else replied.  Have you got NVDA set to save settings on exit?  It is the default, but if you turned that off, it won't save changes automatically.  Look in NVDA's general settings (NVDA+control+g) or you can also manually save settings with NVDA+control+c.

Kind regards

Quentin

Yes, that is set to save configurations on exit.
This may be a configuration issue with reaper.exe in particular; the next time I fire up reaper I'll check the save configs option again, but I'm pretty sure I never altered this parameter.
