Hello all,

The following notice is for anyone using one or more of the following add-ons:

  • AudioScreen
  • Enhanced Touch Gestures
  • Event Tracker
  • GoldWave
  • ObjPad
  • Resource Monitor
  • StationPlaylist
  • Windows App Essentials (deep maintenance)
  • Zoom Enhancements

Notice: please upgrade to NVDA 2025.3.3 by April 30, 2026. The upcoming stable releases of the add-ons listed will require what might turn out to be the final 32-bit NVDA release.

Background: as of April 14, 2026, NVDA 2026.1 has entered a two-week translatable string freeze period. All the user visible messages and documentation in English were finalized, with translators given until April 28, 2026 at 23:59 UTC to submit localization data. If things go well, we will see NVDA 2026.1 release candidate by end of the month. Further, if things go according to plan, release candidate 1 means add-on API will be declared stable, meaning anyone can submit stable add-on releases declaring compatibility with NVDA 2026.1.

For the add-ons listed above: the upcoming stable releases will be released as soon as NVDA 2026.1 release candidate is published by NV Access and upon confirmation that 2026.1 API is marked “stable”. As part of the release process, I will be unifying required NVDA version to 2025.3.3 (currently, some of the add-ons can run on NVDA 2024.x but that will change). Updating the required NVDA version lays the foundation to fully transition to 64-bit only support later in 2026 (at least two add-ons will require NVDA 2026.2 (alpha at the moment) because add-on features have become part of NVDA); I will discuss 64-bit NVDA requirement (2026.1 and later) later.

TL:DR (too long, didn’t read): please upgrade to NVDA 2025.3.3 TODAY and no later than April 30, 2026.

Cheers,

Joseph
