Hi everyone,

I've investigated this myself and talked to one of the authors of the add-on who acknowledged that it was a bit of a workaround, and could be considered somewhat "grey" legally.

Given that, we revert to Rui's very first reply in this group and his request to please not discuss this add-on any longer.

I think several members owe Rui an apology.  I would also reiterate that NV Access back the moderators of the group fully.  We would also say that in the case of an add-on like this, where it is based on someone else's work, the onus is 100% on demonstrating that the license they have for using it.

As Rui stated a number of times, if you want to use the add-on, go for it, just as if you want to use the not-Code-Factory-Eloquence add-on we all know about but have agreed not to talk about.  Like that other add-on, where something is not obviously legal, please refrain from talking about it.  If you disagree with the license any given product holds, go talk to the license holder.  NVDA and NV Access are known as being highly reputable and we know we hold a special place in the community and the wider technology sector.  We do not wish for that to be jeopardised in any way by people thinking we allow and promote illegal or at best "grey" software and getting around other people's licenses.

Finally, I would also like to admonish everyone who deliberately kept replying to this thread in the last twenty hours after Noelia first stated she was locking the thread.

It turns out that when you lock a thread on Google Groups, it prevents people from replying via the groups interface, but NOT via email.  Whether you consider that a bug or a feature, anyone else who replies to that thread, or any thread notified as being locked, will be put on moderation.

If anyone has any concerns, please feel free to reach out to me, or to the owners / managers of the list:  nvda-user...@nvaccess.org

Kind regards

Quentin
