After contributing to Mr Kayne's GitHub request to add web page tab
navigation in NVDA, a helpful respondent called Alberto told me that this
feature was already in NVDA but did not have a key assigned to it.
I therefore assigned the key and was delighted with the results. In my setup
Z moves to next tab element on a page and shift Z moves to previous tab
element.

I have received a request to lay out the steps I took to achieve this. So I
offer the below in case it helps.

If anyone wants to make the same change do the following.
1. Open any page in any web browser. Leave it open.
2. Go to NVDA Menu, then preferences then input gestures.
3. Press b until you hear browse mode.
4. If it says collapsed then press right arrow to open up 110 possible
options.
5. Cursor down until you hear move to next tab.
6. Press tab to move to the add button and press enter.
7. You will be prompted to add a key. I opted to type Z as my tab navigation
key.
8. Cursor down the context menu to select which keyboard layout to apply
this to, I always select all layouts.
9. Tab to OK and press enter.
10. Now repeat steps 1 to 5 only this time find Move to previous tab.
11. repeat steps 6 to 9 only this time type in a different gesture. I used
shift plus Z to remain consistent with other NVDA web navigation key
bindings.
That should be job done. I am finding it very useful already to jump to and
back from tab using z and shift z. and think it should be in NVDA by default
rather from customisation.

Nice. I often search for what I want to eliminate the arrowing, but yes
I keep forgetting about the gesture dialogue to do this. Nice find.

Dear David,

Thank you so much for taking the time to detail these steps. I followed your instructions precisely, and everything is working perfectly now.
I truly appreciate the effort you put into documenting this—it is a fantastic addition to my workflow, and I agree with you that it is a feature that should definitely be considered for NVDA by default.

Thanks again for your time and help.

Warm regards,

Mister Kayne
