Welcome to the NVDA User Group. We are a community dedicated to helping people understand and use the NVDA screen reader in a friendly, safe and welcoming environment. Please read this message to understand our community's principles and rules.

Group Purpose:

The central purpose of this group is the discussion of the NVDA screen reader. This includes configuration, commands, compatible software and hardware (synthesisers, braille displays), NVDA add-ons and tutorials. The goal is to share knowledge and help one another. Core Principles: Our Code of Conduct

This community is guided by the principles of the NVDA Citizen and Contributor Code of Conduct. All members are expected to adhere to it in all interactions within the group:

Be respectful of differing viewpoints and experiences.
Exercise consideration and respect in all speech and actions.
Attempt collaboration before conflict.
Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory or harassing behaviour and speech.

Behaviour such as trolling, personal insults, derogatory comments and public or private harassment is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

Moderation and Reporting:

The Group Owner and Moderators are responsible for maintaining a safe environment. If you witness or are subject to behaviour that violates these principles, please report it to the moderators.

Best Practices:

To ensure the group runs smoothly and is useful for everyone, please follow these practices:

Stay on-topic: Questions not directly related to using NVDA should be directed elsewhere. Questions about the accessibility of a specific program with NVDA are considered on-topic.
Use clear subject lines: A descriptive subject like "NVDA not reading Excel cell contents" is more helpful than a generic one like "Help Me!".
Search before posting: Your question may have been answered before. A quick search of the group archives or the web is a courtesy to the community's volunteers.
Read before replying: Please read the entire thread to understand the conversation before you reply. This avoids repetition and misunderstandings.
Do not post logs: Please do not post NVDA logs directly to the group, as they can contain sensitive, personal information. If a log is needed for troubleshooting, you can offer to send it privately to the person assisting you.
