Hi everyone,

Just flagging a point from today's beta release I wanted to highlight.  We know a lot of people have had issues with SAPI 5 voices lately.  We BELIEVE we have fixed most of these in the latest NVDA 2025.3 Beta 2.  If you have had any SAPI 5 issues at all recently, can you please try this beta and if anything is not working with SAPI 5, please do ensure there is an open issue - https://github.com/nvaccess/nvda/issues - or at least let us know.

Thanks!

Quentin

Quentin, while it's not been an issue for me since don't generally work with SAPI, gave it a quick try, and it does now seem to let you halt, or pause say all immediately while working with a SAPI synth.

Hi Quentin

All my SAPI voices are working perfectly now after beta 2. Many thanks to you guys for addressing this so promptly. I appreciate it. Actually it feels like my SAPI voices, Ivona in particular, are more responsive now than ever before.

Kind regards

Christo

Fantastic!

Yes we had introduced some improvements in 2025.1 from memory, but they got overshadowed by the other issues which crept in :)
