the same tech person who explained to me what was happening with the PDF file explained what was happening with the Word document.
He said that when the mouse pad was on, which happens from time to time when the kids forget to turn it off, I must have hit something when touching the mouse pad--I have a laptop. . He did not say what it was but he gave me the steps if this happens again. I could hardly understand him because of his accent so did not catch what he said I had done. He did give me the steps of how to correct the problem if it happens again. The steps totally fixed the problem. It was something about showing all of the pages at one time which messed up me being able to arrow through the entire document. I guess I should have waited until talking to tech first before cluttering up the list the other day. I was given some great information that I have written down from the list so it was not a total loss of time.
In case someone else ever has the problem where the document will not arrow down properly I will give you the steps he gave to me.
with the document open any word document, press alt w q arrow down to where it says 100 and press enter.
