how to find the contacts's list when I type @ in whatsapp

Hello!

I know that, when I type @ in a whatsapp conversation, a participant`s list appear and I could select someone.

But, since nvda doesn`t read this list automatically, I typed the @ and tried to use object navigation to find this list.

But, I didn`t find it.

Is there a way to reach it

While I have no experience with whatsapp in the desktop environment, you might do better to use the flattened review navigation commands - by default, on a full desktop layout keyboard, NVDA+numpad 9 and NVDA+numpad 3?

I use this quite often to sort of review dialogue contents quickly/easily, and it still allows you to then interact with controls/elements?

When you're in the list of chats, tab to the checkbox that goes something like "start a new conversation" and make sure it's checked; there will be a search field or just tab three times further to the list of contacts and keep scrolling down; first it will show you as a contact, then the most frequent ones and finally all contacts sorted alphabetically by name.

NVDA reads this fine for me. I press at in a chat and I can cursor up or down, or start typing to filter. I seem to have to press tab to complete, typing and space doesn’t resolve the person.

I’m using WhatsApp for Windows Version 2.2526.2.0, NVDA 2025.1.

I don't know why it is not reading for you. It reads for me.

I am using windows 10 22h2, nvda 2025.1.2, whatsapp beta 2.2564.6.0 and WhatsAppPlus 2.1.0 nvda addon.

whatsapp Version 2.2526.2.0

nvda Version: 2025.2beta2 (2025.2.0.37204)

Should I open an issue for it?
