When I use narrator in outlook it works fine. Lets say I have 8 messages. I can listen to the first one and hit control d for delete and it goes right on to reading the next one. Where as with NVDA, I have to hit control d for delete and press insert down arrow to read the next message. Also in Microsoft edge on the news max site it will read with inflections. It sounds like it is asking questions. I have windows 11.
Where do you hear rising inflections? I didn't hear them when I
tested the site.

But where on the site? In articles, on the home page? If in a certain article, can you copy the link from the address bar and paste it into a message so others can check if they have the same kind of reading?

going back to auto reading of messages
not every user wants messages immediately read out
I am happy with how NVDA handles messages and I have used outlook and new outlook and I use thunderbird on my own home machine
I won't get in to an oppinion war over features in screen readers because everyone is an individual and they use the tools that help them and everyone uses different tools in different situations.
