toggle-x NVDA addon

Here is the Toggle X NVDA addon. It contain two files, the addon itself and a .py file you need to overwrite to ensure proper functionality. To make any synthesizer say raw text output. Press NVDA+0 than Z. You will hear NVDA say "Process", which means that raw output is being sent to the synthesizer. Note, the setting does not save, so when you restart NVDA, you must press the same order of keys again.

Hi,

Could you please explain the installations in detail p?

What do you mean by over write the .py file?

And after installing the addon does not show up in the settings or in tools menus?

Where can we find some help on this?

Hi,

It is an old add-on that offers a layered commands set to toggle some speech processing functions (original author: Tyler Spivey). The add-on is abandoned and cannot be made compatible with NVDA 2026.x without modifications.

To Josh: I know you are eager to talk about retro synthesizers support movement. But please remember that not al parts of the NvDA community are aware of ToggleX and similar add-ons. Next time, please offer a short intro if you are posting your message to a forum where the add-on was not discussed previously.
