Problem with updating or uninstalling NVDA beta

I have raised an issue on Github for the problem I am having with updating to the next beta on my MS Surface and trust that investigations are under way.  Meanwhile, while I could initially update with a couple of retries, it now fails every time.  There is an added problem in that my attempt to uninstall and revert to 2026.1.1 results in the uninstaller failing.

My question to knowledgable people is whether trashing the NVDA folder from Program Files and from Appdata is advisable in order to get a fresh start.  Right now I cannot go forwards or backwards and don't want to stay on beta 7 for ever.

Suggestions appreciated.
