Hi all,
This message is mainly for StationPlaylist suite users. I wanted to put a question out here just to get opinions and to see if this would be ideal to implement based on your feedback.
For those of you who use (or have used) the JAWS scripts for StationPlaylist, you will know that in tab controls in, say, sections of the Options dialog and also Track Properties (and possibly other places), JAWS will automatically select the tab that gets focused with the arrow keys, simulating behavior similar to many other Windows apps. With other screen readers (NVDA/Narrator) and the SPL Studio scripts unchecked in JAWS's Manage Application Settings dialog, this is not the case and you must press Enter or Space to change to that sub-tab in focus.
So, my question...
Would anyone else like the very popular behavior where tab controls are auto-selected upon focus, rather than requiring you to select tabs in tab controls with Enter or Space? I can see the benefit of this, but at the same time I don't want to be implementing perhaps what might become an add-on configuration option anyway allowing for this to be the case if very few others want it. In any case, I may have Ross consider making this a default behavior in the future so that it shouldn't ever have to be a scripted behavior.
Cheers,
Chris
