As it is now 5 years since I last made some demonstrations of the Global
commands Addon, I have started to update them.

There are 7 or perhaps more episodes planned.
This initial Introduction assumes no knowledge of how to install an external
addon to NVDA, so the more experienced user may want to skip forward past
some of these introductory sections.
I have also slowed down the voice significantly for the less experienced
screenreader user, but you can of course, accelerate this and future
episodes using various media players.

I do not currently have access to any Podcast feed to use these
demonstrations, but they are freely available to any who would want to host
this and any future episodes.

The caveat of using Addons at your own risk applies to not only this addon
but also this demonstration but I do think this is a genuinely useful and
transformative addon for NVDA users.

Hello:
Thanks for this. Audio tutorials are a valuable resource. Also, to make your tutorial even more useful, it would be great if you could share links to the documentation and the add-on as text. This can help people who aren't speakers of the language of the audio, to use translation tools or to search and navigate the audio to find specific information, to deaf blind people or braille users, and can be helpful for everyone to understand and remember informatio.
Kind regards,
Noelia

Thanks for this, but your link was broken in the middle of the word introduction.
Try this link, it works for me:

Dear Noelia

I am happy to investigate ways of transcribing, though I do not believe I can do this within Zoom itself whilst recording as I do not have a paid account.

In terms of posting links and the transcription I think I probably need somebody to host these demonstrations on a website of some kind so that I can reference where the transcription or links can be found.

Happy to receive suggestions.

Hello David, thanks for your responsiveness and consideration.
I think that a full transcription may not be needed if it's not available.
I know that transcriptions are done witth paid apps or websites and then they can be reviewed, or manually by humans, and I think that excellent results may not be easy to be achieved, or at least this is my proffesional experience. Proofreading is not easy if you want to ensure a result of hight quality, imo.
But, if you have the webpage of the add-on with documentation, you may add it in addition to your audiotutorial.
Personally, I usually prefer to read documentation instead of listening audios, with some exceptions. And may be people who really needs to use braille to understand how to use the add-on.
Kind regards.

David,

May I try to transcribe it?

Yes, keeping in mind everyone's own native language, I will try to transcribe it into an .html file so that everyone can host it locally and translate it directly from their browser.

Would you mind emailing me at
snehashi...@gmail.com
so that we can continue this topic without bothering the other members?

Also, while making the transcription, if anyone else would like to give their opinions, don't hesitate to email me personally!

Best wishes,

Snehashish!

Richard,

That wasn’t the case actually. That was the behavior of the screen reader/browser (I’m forgetting who’s the culprit in your case right now) of reading a certain amount of characters on a single line.

If you perform the general keystroke of reading a paragraph (CTRL + Up/Down arrow), you’d notice that the link is beeing read properly.

Best wishes,

Snehashish!

Apologies for the broken link in my previous email. I made the mistake of copying   in plain text.

Hopefully the following link will now work.

Original text followed by corrected link below.

Thanks for correction. I copied it across from another message sent to another list. I will have to check.
