Hello NVDA Users,

I am reaching out to see if anyone else is experiencing a specific navigation challenge with NVDA and Microsoft Excel.

The Issue:

I am currently unable to navigate cells in a worksheet after switching to another application and returning to the Excel file. Every time I switch focus back to Excel, cell navigation fails. To resume working, I am forced to maximize the workbook/window; otherwise, NVDA remains unresponsive to cell navigation commands.

System and Software Details:

• NVDA Version: 2023.3.3 (build 2023.3.3.54605)

• Microsoft Excel: LTSC MSO, Version 2408 (Build 16.0.17932.20742), 64-bit

• OS: Windows 11 PRO, Version 10.0.26200, Build 26200

This behavior is significantly disrupting my workflow, as the constant need to re-maximize the window to regain focus on the grid is inefficient.

Has anyone encountered this "lost focus" bug on recent builds of Excel 2408 or Windows 11 Build 26200? If so, are there known workarounds or specific settings (such as UI Automation) that might resolve this without needing to toggle the window state every time?

I look forward to your insights.

Warm regards,
