Announcement: Joseph Lee is maintaining Virtual Review (for now)

Hi all,

I hereby announce that Virtual Review will be maintained by me (Joseph Lee) for a while. The new repository is:

josephsl/virtualReview: Displays screen contents via a browsable window.

I contributed to this add-on between 2013 and 2020, mostly working on improving virtual review capability on modern apps and code compatibility with NVDA 2019.3 and later. I have also released several versions of this add-on before Rui Fontes took over in 2021.

Note: with this announcement, please use my fork as the official version for the time being. Rui's add-on repository will remain and serve as a memorial to him (I request no more changes on his repo).

Thank you Rui for allowing me to collaborate with you on Virtual Review in the past. I will honor your memory by maintaining your add-on and pass it onto a worthy successor.

Hi all,

IMPORTANT CORRECTION: I was contacted by Rui Batista, the original author of Virtual Review add-on who would like to maintain the add-on in memory of Rui Fontes. Therefore, I am backing down from my fork (the forked repository will be removed).

On a related note on Rui Fontes' add-ons and their maintenance: July 2026 is NOT a good time to bring it up in public. If you do wish to talk about who will maintain Rui's add-ons, please hold on UNTIL next month (August).
