Hi all,

I’m delighted to announce the immediate availability of NVDA 2026.1 compatible stable releases of the following add-ons (available from NV Access add-on store):

  • AudioScreen 2026.2
  • Enhanced Touch Gestures 26.05
  • Event Tracker 26.2
  • GoldWave 26.05
  • ObjPad 26.05
  • Resource Monitor 26.05
  • StationPlaylist 26.05
  • Windows App Essentials 26.05
  • Zoom Enhancements 26.05

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • These add-ons now require NVDA 2025.3.3, the last 32-bit NVDA release.
  • Sometime in northern summer, some of these add-ons will mark themselves as requiring NVDA 2026.1 (transitioning to 64-bit only support); some may ask you to upgrade to later 2026.x releases. I will include notes when that happens (see below for notes for some ad-dons).
  • By December 31, 2026, all of the add-ons above will require latest NVDA 2026.x stable release in circulation then (fully transitioning to 64-bit only support in 2027).
  • AudioScreen: version 2026.2 might become the final 32-bit/64-bit hybrid add-on release.
  • Enhanced Touch Gestures: NVDA 2026.2 (alpha) includes browse touch mode functionality. Therefore, a later ad-don release will require NVDA 2026.2 when it is released to everyone.
  • StationPlaylist: a release coming this northern summer will require NVDA 2026.1 and SPL suite 6.10 and later. For folks using NVDA 2025.3.3 and/or SPL suite 6.0/6.01, a long-term support version will be maintained throughout this year.
  • Windows App Essentials: version 26.05 is the last version to support Windows 11 Version 24H2. Please upgrade to Version 25H2.

Changelog:

For all add-ons:

* NVDA 2025.3.3 or later is required.

Enhanced Touch Gestures:

* Touch browse mode will be entered automatically when switching to a browse mode document or toggling from focus mode to browse mode.

* Improved reliability of toggling through touch modes after the add-on is reloaded (Control+NVDA+F3).

StationPlaylist:

* Added a setting in add-on settings under Advanced settings panel to configure which ap should receive priority when command conflicts occur. Options include NVDA (perform add-on commands), StationPlaylist (pass the conflicting keyboard shortcut to the active SPL application and is the default setting), or NVDA then StationPlaylist (first press will perform add-on command, subsequent presses will perform SPL command). This option is applicable to local Studio 6.10 and later where Control+Alt+End keyboard shortcut to report last track column conflicts with Studio command to play ends of tracks.

* In local Studio 6.0x, pressing Control+Alt+End will no longer announce last track column to make the behavior consistent with later Studio releases. You can set command priority setting to "NVDA" or "NVDA then StationPlaylist" to restore previous behavior.

* SPL touch mode commands are deprecated and will be removed in a future add-on release caused by backwards incompatible internal changes to touch mode handling in NVDA 2026.2.

* In Creator and Track Tool, removed column sort direction arrow characters from column headers when reviewing column data for a track (Control+NVDA+hyphen).

* Add-on settings dialog will be closed automatically when closing Creator, Track Tool, and encoder windows.

* Added a new command in SPL Controller layer to play the next selected track with crossfade (Control+down arrow).

* Pressing Enter after entering SPL Controller layer will play the selected track from anywhere.

For folks awaiting NVDA 2026.1 stable add-on releases from other authors, rest assured that they are on their way.

Enjoy.

Cheers,

Joseph
