Good morning to all.

 

Using NVDA with windows 10, is there a keyboard command for locating and identifying graphics? I believe it is the insert key with the letter g. Thanks.

Please use a better subject next time when mailing to the group, very ambiguous subject line 😊

 

Switch to BROWSE MODE: INSERT + SPACEBAR = BROWSE MODE and the key letter G will help you navigate all graphics/ images on the page. Hope this helps.

JAWS has a shortcut, which I think is ctrl + insert + g, to *list* all graphics on the page. it has separate lists for links, headings and so forth. 

NVDA has an *elements* list, when in browse mode the NVDA key + f7 lets you choose what to list.

While in a web page, just typing g will move you from graphic to graphic from your location down the page.  Shift g moves you up the page by graphic. 

That's the move by graphic command in NVDA.  I haven't checked the JAWS command but using this command, you will move directly by graphic on the page rather than use a list that isn't actually part of the page.  It saves time and commands to enter the list and set it to how you want to move.

No, it does not work with background images.  They are not accessible to screen readers.

yes Mister Kayne was correct once press insert plus spacebar key then you enter in a browse mode and press a letter keys to find a most element like g: graphic, f: formfeeld, E: edit box and l: links you press thees keys with shift hold you can jump the privious images, editbox, formfeelds and links.
