NVDA. speech issue when using Bluetooth earphones.

Hi every one

I hope you're doing well.

I'm using Windows 11 with NVDA 2026.1 (stable). I've noticed an issue that occurs only when I'm using Bluetooth earphones.

For example, when I join Microsoft Teams or use other applications, NVDA announces only part of the message. If I toggle the microphone, it says "Microphone..." but omits the last word (such as "on" or "off"). Similarly, for other buttons and notifications, NVDA often skips the last few words of the spoken message.

This issue does not occur when I'm using my laptop speakers; it happens only with Bluetooth audio.

Has anyone experienced a similar issue or found a workaround? I would appreciate any suggestions or guidance.

you can try reinstalling your bluetooth drivers and re pair your budds and speakers

Hi Sharath

I am surprised that it is the end of a phrase that you are missing rather than the beginning.  What often happens with Bluetooth devices is that they turn off when not receiving a signal.  In such cases the beginning of the next phrase that NVDA sends is missed.  Under Audio in NVDA Settings there is an option to keep devices awake.  It would be worth checking what yours is set to.  Increasing the duration may minimally affect battery life, but not a big issue.

There are, I think, NVDA  add-ons for keeping Bluetooth devices awake.  Before the option was added in NVDA I wrote a script to do the job.

Having said all that, I repeat that I am surprised that it is the end of phrases that you miss.
