Physical security keys and their usability with NVDA

Hello all.

I am thinking about getting such a physical key for authentication.

I have had a conversation with chat gpt about it and it told me, that it
couldn't find anything about how good they are to use with NVDA such as
configuration.

Now my questions:

1. Does anyone here have experience with those keys and how good they
work together with NVDA?

2. Are there also keys which are non-US? I try to avoid that.

its a portable finger print device and nothing to do with screen readers.

Once the application/portal asks for authentication you just need to place a registered finger.

no much idea on configuring things.

[NVDA Screen Reader Discussion]

Hi,

I've never had an issue using my Ubikeys with NVDA or any other screen reader. For the most part there is no need to use special software with these devices. From memory the Ubikey configuration utility was fairly accessible, but I have had no need for it apart from checking it out out of curiosity when I first got my keys several years ago.

Hi.

I just got my Kensington IT 2.0 and it just works fine. I did more
Research on this and there are only drivers, which are being updated by
Windows itself. So yes, no need for additional software. And that key is
really snappyfast. I love it. OK, it is just comfort, since windows
passwords are no sign of real security but it is at least a good
security level. And that fingerprint detector is a good comfort.
