Hello everybody.

The subject line says it all.

When i open the command line cmd and enter a command, i cannot read the
output no matter what i do.

NVDA plus the keys on the numpad do not help at all.

Do you have a hint for me?

Sincerely

yours

Daniel

Hi Daniel,
Sometimes the Windows console host settings interfere with screen readers. You can try these steps:
1.
Open cmd , right-click the title bar, and select Properties .
 2
Under the Options or Terminal tab, ensure that options like "Use legacy console" are checked/unchecked or try toggling the experimental console features, as the modern Windows Console Host sometimes needs review cursor adjustments. 3
Alternatively, you can use review mode (NVDA + Numpad 7/8/9 or arrow keys depending on your layout) to read the window text directly, or try switching to Windows Terminal.
Hope this helps!

Not NVDA key plus the numpad keys. Just the numpad keys by themselves.
NVDA key plus numpad keys are completely different commands, having to
do mostly with object navigation from object to object.  You want to
stay in the current object and move around and read in it.

Also, report dynamic content changes is on by default. If you get output
in the command line, it will be spoken unless you stop it. If that
setting is off, there will be no automatic speech when output occurs and
you will have to manually read text.
