Hi all,

I’m wondering if it would be possible to adjust how NVDA labels Alpha and Beta builds when using the “Check for updates” feature.

Right now, the update dialog shows something like: NVDA version alpha-55382,f1c383ff (2026.2.0.55382)

Would it be feasible to include the target version at the beginning, for example: NVDA 2026.2, alpha-55382,f1c383ff (2026.2.0.55382)

This would make it much easier to quickly identify which major/minor version the snapshot belongs to, especially for testers and developers who track multiple builds.

Curious what others think and whether this is something the devs would consider.

Thanks!
