Recently, Bitwarden has become inaccessible with NVDA. When I launch it, it says “Chrome legacy window” and little else. For now, I am sticking to the web vault but wondering if this change with the Windows app has been experienced by others? Is there a way to make it usable somehow (something like screen recognition on Voiceover)? What was the last accessible version of Bitwarden? Please let me know.

Kind Regards,

Hi.

I also ran into that issue but was making sure the work around actually works before reporting it to Bitwarden on windows 11, though it shouldn't have to be this way. The way to fix this is to run as administrator every time. I do have a support request with them open about this and I can give you the number if you think that will help. My question though, why should we have to run as admin just to fix a strange accessibility issue with an application?
Thanks.
From Michael.

Getting the exact same thing using 1Password and the latest version of NVDA. Working perfectly with JAWS.

Hi all,

This issue should be resolved with build 261(2)00.7019 (October 2025 optional update).

Cheers,

Joseph

Thanks everyone. As Joseph mentioned, updating Windows resolved this issue. Happy Monday. :)
