Given recent discussions on Libre Office, I decided to give it another go,
installing the Portable Version, as in the past MS Office and Libre Office
did not play nicely together.
The setup wizard when first launching Writer Portable was not great, I
think you would need Object Review to read screens properly. I used insert B
to read the dialogue. There were no tab elements. However, pressing alt N
to activate the next button and navigate through the screens until alt C
closed the wizard with default configuration.
After that the experience was surprisingly pleasant. I started typing in
some text which all went as expected. There seemed no access barriers of any
kind which I could initially detect.
I then pasted in some text from another document I had written.
To my great surprise using NVDA down arrow produced a reliable read all
of the complete document, this being the first time I had ever achieved this
result with Libre Office Writer.
I then typed some deliberate spelling mistakes and launched the spell
checker and again this worked satisfactorily. I had to use NVDA up arrow to
read the first suggested change, but after that pressing up and down arrow
read out all the suggested changes. It was nice to get back to an easy
spell-checking interface.
Obviously, I have only scratched the surface, but I thought this change in
Say all behaviour was worth reporting.
