Hi Noelia, I installed the PlaceMarker AddOn on NVDA 2025.3 beta 2. Is there a limit of how many PlaceMarkers you can set, like if you had a book  with many chapters or with a bible to mark all the books or all the chapters in one of the books if it was a big one? The reason I asked is I have some in html and was wondring if it is possible to do that?

Hi,

While using Google Chrome latest version on my Windows 11 machine, I notice that I am unable to navigate to the address bar despite trying the following methods:

  1. Pressing CTRL + L
  2. Pressing ALT + d
  3. Pressing F6 multiple times

Previously  all 3 methods work fine and I have no problem navigating to the address bar.

Anyone face the same problem ?

Could I have miss out any necessary steps?

Or is there any other way to navigate to the address bar while using Google Chrome.

Best Wishes,

Ahmad

Closest can come to experiencing something like this is if I have shifted to full-screen mode - to toggle it on/off, I will generally use NVDA+F2 to ask NVDA to ignore next keystroke and then use F11 - it tells you that a form of long-press of escape should return to normal display mode, but doesn't always seem to work, so I will mostly just use same combination of keystrokes to reverse full-screen mode afterwards, and don't generally bother with it anyway - suppose might if planned to do something like record a screencast video clip, but it's more or less the only time I have noticed not being able to focus on address bar, although if close chrome and open it again, it seems to have reverted to normal mode anyway?

Stay well

Hi Jacob,

Thanks so much for pointing this out !

Actually I was on full screen, no wonder all 3 methods did not work🤣🤣🤣

After coming out of full screen by simply pressing the escape button, now it works !

Thanks so much dear friend , really really appreciate it!🙏🙏🙏😁

Stay safe and have a wonderful weekend !

Make sure the problem has something to do with NVDA. Try another
screen-reader. Also, if you haven't rebooted, reboot. That should be
either the first or one of the first things you should do when an odd
problem occurs.

"Hello,
I've also encountered this issue before. Usually, these kinds of problems happen when Chrome is in full-screen mode.
First, could you try pressing the F11 key once? If that works, your shortcuts should start working again.
I hope this small tip helps you solve the problem! I don't have any other ideas, but I hope this one works.
Sincerely,"

Sometimes, the browser window needs to be maximized before it seems to
response to keyboard commands. So, when the browser window is active,
press Alt+Spacebar, and then select Maximize from this menu. The
shortcut key for the Maximize may vary in different language versions.

Hope this helps

Hey thanks for the tip as well. I don't normally use full screen. Might if I do  any demos, and I'm glad to know you cannot get to the address bar when in full screen, that actually makes sence.
