I wanted to recommend the NVDA basic training to some students I serve.

However, I noticed the older training I have access to makes frequent use of Wordpad which is no longer included in Windows 11.

I see the training was last updated in July of 2025, but the free sample on the web still has references to Wordpad.

What is the plan for using something other than Wordpad and should I wait to recommend this training?

Thanks.

Hi,

I purchased the older training materials and was delighted to find that I could obtain the updated version. You might want to try and download the latested and check it out.

Best

George

Hi Deborah,

Yes, the latest version of the training material drops mention of WordPad for that reason.  I must admit I need to update the free sample to the latest version, so I will make a note to update that, apologies for the confusion!

And yes, if you have previously purchased the module (or any training material), you can download the latest version of all modules you have purchased from your NV Access account: https://www.nvaccess.org/my-account/downloads/

Kind regards

Quentin.
