French TTS

I am using Windows 11 25h2 and nvda 2025.3.2. Could anyone suggest any free French tts for nvda?

Earlier, I was using the narrator 's legacy French voice. Yesterday, I used an ISO file to upgrade from 24h2 to 25h2 and this process deleted my french voice.

Now, if I try to add voice, it does not show the list of languages in the legacy voice list. I also contacted microsoft via be my eyes but they said that microsoft have deprecated legacy voices.

I can start using a natural narrator french voice but I cannot use it with nvda. I do not want to use espeak for french. Do you have any suggestions?

I can only suggest either Acapela or Tiflotecnia, but neither is free. Espeak is the only alternative I can think of, if you’ve got a strong heart.

Hi,

Do you have the French language pack installed? I just tried installing the French (France) voices to no avail, until I installed the French (France) language pack and restarted my machine.

 This was on Windows 11 25H2.
