Using NVDA on Mac OS

Hello,

I am a sighted, neurodivergent accessibility tester who is new to using NVDA. I currently work on macOS and access NVDA through Assistiv Labs.

I wanted to ask whether anyone has experience using Assistiv Labs for NVDA testing or can recommend resources specific to this setup. If not, I would also appreciate any general guidance or best practices for working with NVDA while on a Mac.

Hello,

I have had decent luck with running windows on my Mac using VMware fusion, the personal license doesn't cost anything.

There's a few annoyances around trying to run it and voiceover at the same time, when that happens and you command tab out of Windows into macOS the virtual machine crashes pretty reliably. But the whole set up worked well enough for me to learn NVDA in advance of starting a new job that had me using windows for the first time in a couple of decades.
