I really miss the clock-ad=on since the latest version of NVDA. Do any one of the people who create ad-ons know if this ad-on is soon going to be updated with the new versions of NVDA. I miss my clock going off every half an hour.

thank you so much

Hello,

My name is Abdel, and I'm one of the contributors to the Clock add-on.

Currently, there is a stable version of the Clock add-on available on the stable channel of the NVDA addonStore. This is version 31.08.2, which was updated by Zvonimir.

However, this version has two known issues:

  • When switching to "speech on demand" mode, the layered commands accessed with the NVDA+Shift+F12 gesture remain silent;
  • When updating from a version that doesn't support 5-minute intervals, the previously selected interval automatically switches to a different one.

To address this, I have fixed these two issues in a new version, 20250707.1.0.

This version will be released on the addonStore's stable channel soon.

In the meantime, you can also download it directly from the following link:

https://github.com/hkatic/clock/releases/download/25.07.07-dev/clock-20250707.1.0.nvda-addon

Thank you,

Abdel.

I have the one using F12 but am referring to the one that automatically could be set to go off every half hour and you could set different sound options to hear when it went off. Is this the one or the F12 one?

When I click on the link I cannot find the download button. I have been able to do other ad-ons but not this one. Please help. thank you for explaining also.

OK, I got it added but do not recall how to set the time on it. I am hoping this is the other clock as I mentioned in the previous email but even if it is not thank you for updating it.

Is the add-on still on your computer? If it is shown as disabled, have
you tried enabling it to see if it works then? There is a certain
amount of risk enabling a disabled add-on which has been disabled
because it is incompatible with the new version, but from what I've seen
on lists, the risk is small. I don't recall seeing problems reported
from enabling incompatible add-ons either at all or more than one or
perhaps two times, so infrequently that I don't recall seeing any, if
they have been reported.

If you are worried, you can create a portable copy, keep the current
configuration, which will keep all add-ons already installed in the
installed version, and they will be available in the portable version.
You can then try enabling any disabled add-ons you want to test.

I found my directions for the options. Thank you so very much. I am excited about it working again. I have no idea why I was not alerted to the update. Maybe there is something I am missing in being updated but when I checked it a couple of days ago it says I am supposed to be notified.
