Hello,

I'm writing to flag an issue with my GSoC 2026 proposal submission that I believe was caused by a genuine source of confusion around an umbrella organization change.

I submitted my proposal titled "Improving dynamic testing and targeted Tools API updates in grass.jupyter" for the GRASS GIS project. However, I mistakenly submitted it under OSGeo on the GSoC portal, when GRASS now participates under NumFOCUS. This change happened between last year and this year, and I was not aware of it when I submitted.

I reached out to the GRASS mentor (annakrat) on the OSGeo Discourse forum, and they confirmed that they cannot consider proposals submitted under OSGeo — but also acknowledged that I was not the only student who made this mistake due to the org change.

Since the application period is now closed and I have no way to resubmit, I'm respectfully asking whether any exception or proposal transfer is possible given the circumstances. I have the full proposal ready and can share it immediately if needed.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Best regards,
Akshad Sonawane
