Prospective Contributor Interested in Contributing and GSoC Participation

Hello everyone,

My name is Akhand Pratap Singh, and I’m a Computer Science student at IIT BHU with a strong interest in machine learning, scientific computing, and data science.

Recently, I worked on a deep learning project for breast cancer detection using histopathology images, where I experimented with image segmentation and CNN-based classification to study how preprocessing techniques affect model performance. Through this work, I gained experience working with Python-based tools commonly used in the scientific computing and machine learning ecosystem.

I’m particularly interested in contributing to projects within the NumFOCUS ecosystem that focus on machine learning, numerical computing, data analysis, and visualization. I’m planning to apply for Google Summer of Code, and I would love to begin contributing to the community while learning more about the development of widely used open-source scientific tools.

I would greatly appreciate any guidance on good first issues or areas where new contributors can get involved.
