Hi NumFOCUS GSoC Community,
My name is Siddharth Verma, and I'm excited to introduce myself as a prospective GSoC 2026 contributor.
I have intermediate knowledge of Python and Java, and my primary interest lies in Machine Learning — particularly working with scikit-learn and building predictive models. I'm genuinely passionate about AI/ML and want to contribute to real-world open source projects in this space.
I'll be honest — I'm not the most advanced coder out there, but I'm consistent, eager to learn, and committed to putting in the work. I've been going through the NumFOCUS GSoC README and exploring the ideas list, and I'm very excited about the projects available here.
I would love guidance on:
- Which projects might be a good fit for someone at my level
- How I can make my first contribution before the application deadline
- Any advice on writing a strong proposal
Thank you so much for your time. I look forward to being part of this community!
Best regards,
Siddharth Verma
