Hello NumFOCUS Community,

my name is Uravashi Agrawal, and I am a 2nd year Computer Science and Engineering student preparing for Google Summer of Code 2026. I am excited to start engaging with the NumFOCUS community and learn how i can contribute meaningfully.

I have a good foundation in python and currently learning pandas, numPy and Matplotlib, focusing on data analysis and manipulation. I'm also exploring machine learning fundamentals and working with real world datasets.

Additionally, i have a foundation in C and C++, which helps me understand low level concepts using in scientific python libraries and the performance of critical code.

I also have experience in frontend development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and UI/UX design, which i can use to improve the documentation pages, developer- facing interface.

At this stage, my goal is to learn the open-source contribution process, understand project structures, and start with beginner-friendly issues, documentation improvement, or small bugs fixes.

I would appreciate any guidance on where beginners can start.

Looking forward to learning from the community and contributing over time.

Thank you,
Uravashi Agrawal
