Thanks for forwarding this on here, Gina!

Please feel free to discus with me here (or anywhere else).

Not to put more work on anyone, but one thing I kept thinking while writing that post was that it would be great if DISC had a cookbook for how to run a project more inclusively.  I am not sure if that is 100% in-scope here (or, in-scopz, if I dare), but that would be a great resource to have.

Be Well
Anthony

Hi Anthony,
Are you referring to something like the DISCOVER Cookbook:
https://github.com/numfocus/DISCOVER-Cookbook

Or something else?

It would be interesting to create a document on micro-aggressions and examples of positive/negative behaviors.

Yeah, I am referring to the DISCOVER Cookbook, which is more aimed at conferences and events than the day-to-day leadership activities/

I can't promise this would be within the scope of this funding but if you're willing to lead this activity, Jupyter may have funding. I was just chatting with the folks at Bloomberg (source of the funding) a few days about how one of the key results of this funding is teaching our local supporters how to become event organizers as a strategy for increasing the strength of our communities. So that one of the key impacts of this funding isn't even the event itself but the skills and networks we help local organizers build.

I think a version of what Anthony describes is a natural next step for the DISC committee. Leah & I are scheduled to talk with Chris at the Moore Foundation next week, so I will try to bring it up during that call. (Moore has been partially funding the DISC program and was the source of the idea for the DISCOVER Cookbook.)

Best,
Gina
