In the warm up week, the instructors are discussing about the perception of the MOOC like flexibility, convinience and accessibility rather than designing a learner centric MOOC.
Pls. go through the videos of week 1, where the instructor highlights the significance of designing learner centric MOOC using LCM Model, Creating LeDs, Creating LbDs and LxTs and LxIs and Orchetration, which are designed by applying the learner centric model. The extensive design of the above with illustrations will be dealt in detail from second week.
Happy Learning!

Dear all
The questions posted by fellow learners Avinash and Renuka Ozarkar are worthy at this point of time. I feel that we may see only one-eighth of our course. This may be like judging a book with its cover. Let's wait and move open heartly to follow the reading and reverify the questions posted at a later time.

The Learner-Centric approach encompasses teaching methods that shift the focus from teachers to students. It’s a fresh way of seeing, thinking about, and acting on educational methods.
The central idea is to develop autonomy, putting the responsibility of learning squarely on the students themselves. Also focuses on developing specific skills and competencies.
By learner centric practices educators empower students to take charge of their learning journey.
Coming to the point of curation in MOOCs. It allows learners to select, organize and present their own learning resources based on their goals, preferences and pace.
The centricity of learner could be understood as having the choice and control over the learning resources to have personalized sequence of topics. Whereas in traditional classroom fixed and linear sequence of topics are often done by instructor or the author of the text.
The LCM model is with pedagogical design guided by aligning to learner outcomes, promote learning engagement, support learning autonomy and consider learner diversity.
The ways to create a scalable open course include designing for diverse learners with different learning styles and goals, fostering interaction, empowering learners to explore their interests and apply their learning to real-world contexts and provide support along with constructive feedback to monitor the learners progress and overcome challenges.
All these were given significance in designing this course.
Persistence pays off. Happy learning.
