In question 3, it asked whether transposing a magic square gives anew magic square.
SInce tranposing can be by rotation and reflection, the magic square formed after transpose is not a new magic square, but the same magic suare, just in a different spatial orientation. It will belong to the same equivalence class, hence cannot be treated as a new magic square.
Hence the answer should be "No", but it was given as "Yes. Please look into the matter and do the needful.

I am attaching a screenshot of the wikipedia article for reference.

Hi,

The motive the question was to ask if the magic square properties remain the same or not.
After transposing, the matrix itself is a new matrix, A = A^T is not always true, hence in most cases results in a new matrix.
So, the answer is yes, this new matrix is a magic square again.

Thanks,
TA (The Joy of Computing using Python)

Yes, the answer to Q.3  of  Week 4: Assignment 4 should have been  No .
In terms of correctness, the correct answer should have been NO.
The reply from the TA is not acceptable, they should have stated their motive clearly if they had some ulterior motive.
I answered the question accurately by taking reference from trusted sources, still my marks got deducted. This is not fair.
Even after answering a question correctly, I'm not able to get the marks for it.
I am attaching the links of some authentic sources from where the course TA can check their facts.

Please re-evaluate the question.
Thank you.
