I have studied till week 4. I have a doubt that what exactly is the meaning of word "random" in probability. Intuitively, I think if we choose something from a bunch of things randomly, then choosing any of the thing from that bunch is equally likely.
In week-4 we use random variable as a function from a sample space(S) to other set (T) over which we define probability.
So is the word "random" and "random variable" mean the same thing in the course. Or there is some different meaning or definition of the term "random" in probability in general?
Thanks!
