Dear DFM,
In Qn.1 of AQ based on LxT 4.1, it was asked-Discourse is gaining a lot of popularity these days ‘due to’
In the LxT, it mentioned the statement as” Discourse is an open source discussion forum application  which is getting a lot of popularity these days due to its robust and flexible structure.... and that it uses a trust based system.
I assume ‘due to’ part was asked for which is the latter part of the sentence and hence credit given for open source DF application cannot be agreed to. If you expected that to be part of the answer, then you should have considered in AQ3.1 for Qn.3 , engagement of students option also as correct as the video mentioned that option too. But there you didn’t consider that,saying-in the video, the statement mentioned the “ use of polls “ as only the other 2 options.

Please do not confuse us by doing so.. I do not feel happy for this way of assessment where the assessment methods are contradicting.

Expecting a response

Hi,
I haven’t received a response yet to my concern that was raised on 19th February,2021. May I get a feedback as to why ‘open source discussion forum application’ was included for consideration in the right answer choices to the question? If the explanation deems that part to be right, then I request you to kindly reconsider ‘engagement of students’ in answer options to Qn.3 of AQ 3.1 also as right. Awaiting your response

Hi,
I have not received a response to my mail so far. May I know the reason why?

Dear Lakshmi,

Please refer the video (https://youtu.be/4VX4P9qE0DI?t=126) in which the author mentions at 2:07 the following:
Strategy 7: Use Polls
"Student polling and voting is one way of eliciting feedback and engaging your students online"

It seems very clear that
  • Checking engagement of the students
is not a correct option, thus marked as Wrong. Although it acts as a distracting option for the participants, that is a normal strategy implemented by most of the content creators in their courses.

Whereas the following options are clearly mentioned in the video in almost the same way as we have provided in our options (Video also provides the information in two ways: In the form of an audio description and also an on screen text)
  • Consensus on scheduling office hours
  • Checking understanding of students
Whereas the following option is nowhere to found even a slightest mention under Strategy 7 as a Goal of using polls:
  • Understanding relevance of the given content
Hope I have cleared your doubt.

Regarding your query about other questions, it will be clarified soon.
