How reliable is Pipe?

Is Pipe reliable than temp files for bigger programs for recovery in case of loss of data. How big softwares uses pipeline, any example..

A pipe isn't as reliable as a proper file. A filesystem comes with various checks to allow for recovery from crashes. This is covered towards the end of the course.
