Not understanding xv6

Hi,

I have a question about what is happening in this video at 00:00:01 -

I am unable to understand xV6 and x86 architecture at all what should i do ? and assignment question is very hard and tricky ...

After watching the lectures, also study from the xv6 code listing. x86 architecture is very vast but lectures contain sufficient content for this course.

I would strongly suggest following the lectures with a copy of the code listing (https://iitd.github.io/os/nptel21/xv6.pdf). All references are listed here: https://iitd.github.io/os/nptel21/reference.html

While watching the lecture you can annotate the code listing with comments to further your understanding. Later you can try reading it line-by-line and see if you understand what each piece of code does.
