to Discussion forum for Designing Learner-Centric MOOCs
Hi
First of all.. talking as a learner of this course,I would like to mention that the orchestration dynamics was the most interesting and best part of the course. In fact in relation to MOOCs ,I was unaware of this concept or terminology before though I have done one MOOC earlier also. I really enjoyed the way discussion forum worked .It was actually a feeling of a classroom though because of other engagements, I may have missed some discussions . The quick replies by the instructors and moderators is quite appreciable which is the centre of orchestration dynamics . Live interaction session were very knowledgeable and interesting ..the only point here to mention is the feasibility of timings as pointed out by other peers . The way all our queries got answered by the instructors in the live session is worth mentioning . Though I missed upon the first session, participation in second one aroused my interest and I tried hard not to miss the next ones. This is the kind of motivation that needs to be created in the minds of learners and this course has been successful in doing that.
So when I plan to design my own MOOC , apart from content and assessment activities,I will surely take care of this very important component Orchestration dynamics that I have experienced in this course ...to be incorporated in my own MOOC and it seems not possible without a strong team comprising of instructors, moderators,TAs ,technical staff etc. In order to motivate the learners for peer learning, few reflection quizzes based on discussion posts is also a good idea
Thanks for the enriching experience
to the whole course team
It was a great learning
