This course is excellent. Reflection spot can be practiced in conventional class room teaching. It improves student engagement & promotes learning

Yes. This a new perspective on how to design courses with suitable reflection points to engage the learners grasp the knowledge in a better manner. It would certainly improve the engagement level of the students and there by their completing the course module. I had enrolled for one MOOC over the Swayam platform where some videos are of more than 50 minutes duration without any pause or break.  the instructor went on talking for nearly one hour. obviously I had a very bad learning experience from that course.

It is extremely important to plan for reflection spots in class room teachig or a video lecture. One hour lecture means a minimum of 4-5 reflection spots.

Hi,

I have a question about what is happening in this video at 00:02:04 -

Can we have reflection spot after the completion of a concept or should it added in between the concept..

Thanks!

Sir, does more number of reflection spots affect learner’s concentration .Do we have any criteria for fixing up the number of reflection spots.

Thanks!

Yes exactly.
Reflection spot can prove instrumental in MOOC videos as well as it will be crucial in the effectiveness of teaching-learning process as well. Teacher can use reflection spot while going towards the next concept. This will enable the learners to be on toes and become actively involved in the learning process. Application of the learnt concept, etc. will be possible. SO the learners will be more focused and their thought process will be provoked.

It may vary as per the depth of the cocnept and the elvel of the elarners as well. If the concept is to deep to perceive then the reflection spot can occur in between. If the learners are adults then many a times the reflection spot should follow the concept. It all varies as per the demand of the content and the nature of learners.

No, there isn't and can't be any criteria for the number of reflection spots. It is dependent upon the nature of concept being learnt and the nature of the learner. It is a matter of experience and practice to decide about it.

Dear Roopa
Reflection spot can be better after the cocept, bcoz micropractise can work more possibly  better now ,the pause given now can be  a
good reflection spot.
