MOOC is learner-centric through the discussion forum, how much?

It depends on hetrogenity and number of candidates also. Some times discussions are so many that following the discussions is looking difficult. Till this is not related to any marking or grading system, it may be just limited to individual query and response from the course instructors. Involvement of all or most of peers is not seen generlly.

I have complete about 5 courses on NPTEL, and used forum for posting my personal queries only and getting answer from tutors (which is sometimes delayed or not provided at all, which is varying from course to course).
