While discussing the synthesis filter bank, Prof. Gadre mentions that there is a sign ambiguity in the system function, can you please shed some light on why this arises and what are the implications.

Hi Nishant,

can you please send me the exact link where it is said.

Note: In this course we have not discussed about the filter designing. This sign ambiguity is said so because it will help us in designing perfect reconstruction filters. In exact sense, this -ve sign will help us in cancelling aliasing conditions. Hope so this will clear your doubts.
