Graded Assignment 2 - Question 3 - Clarification needed

Dear Sir/Madam,

Aren't Bar charts used for Comparisons and Pie charts used for Composition?

The question being asked was, "Which kind of chart is best suited for relative comparison of share of runs of the players across the two series?"

Seeing the words "relative comparison", I should have gone for a Bar chart.

Seeing the words "share of runs", I should have gone for a Pie chart.

In fact, I had some difficulty in choosing an answer for this question - between a Bar chart and a Pie chart.

It would be helpful if you could give the learners more clarity, on when to use these charts. Please also explain, for what all type of such questions do people pick the wrong answer(wrong graph). This would help us to gain more knowledge in choosing the correct chart for different situations.
