Why age in years is a numerical variable and year is not a ratio scale of measurement?

Hi,

We can say Ram is two times older than shyam but we can not say year 2000 is two times as that of year 1000.

Hence Age in years is a having a ratio scale of measurement but year is not having ratio scale of measurement.
