Sir,
With accordance to the above screenshot. Can we not find the average rating if the scale of rating is from 1-5? If yes, shouldn't the Scale of Measurement be Ratio Scale?
I would be highly grateful if you could provide the answer for my doubt.
Thank you.

Your Sincerely

The basic difference between interval and ratio scale of measurement is the later has "absolute zero", but the person in question was asked to rate between "1-5". Therefore, it doesn't have zero, hence interval but if we are to find or say interested in the difference of the ratings given by that person let's say for other books, then that would be ratio scale.
try to see the PDF to practice solution given, there refer the kelvin and centigrade.

The ratings can only take values from 1 to 5. Since there is no absolute zero, it cannot be ratio scale of measurement.

Let's assume Katheryn gave rating to another book as well, within the same range, i.e 1-5. Now, the difference between the 2 ratings given by Katheryn could be ratio scale of measurement as true zero is possible. If her rating for both books are 4, the difference between the ratings is 4-4 = 0, absolute zero.

Regards.

Rating is a variable that can be measured. So it is a continuous variable right? Discrete Variable can only be counted.
