Can someone pls tell me why it is an interval scale of measure since rating is same as ranking of order which according to the lectures was supposed to be ordinal scale

It's an interval scale because the possible values are separated from each other by 1 (same interval)

but why not ordinal,the rating gives a ranking to the book whether it is good ro bad the it shuold be both interval and ordinal?

If data belongs to a higher scale, it doesn't belong to a lower scale.

Note the order of scales is nominal, ordinal, interval, and ratio.

Basically, data *cannot* belong to two or more scales.  Of course, I'm talking theory, but practically, it might assume different scales based on its practical use/context.
