1)      Date like 12/10/2022 or 12 OCT 2022 are coming under which variable. Is it numerical or categorical ?
  2)      As per my knowledge   YEAR is coming under numerical variable .Say if we have a question regarding a set of years like 1997,2004,2005,1896,2018 and we have asked to find the years given in the data set is coming under which scale of measurement? Is it interval or other ?
   3)       How AVERAGE rating is a continues numerical variable?

Hello,

I will be answering the 2nd question. I will not answer the 3rd question as it is related to graded assignment, however I will average rating after the deadline of submission. first question I won't answer as we are not entirely sure about the date variable. We will issue a clarification on the date too when support team reaches a conclusion on date variable.
2) Year is a  numerical variable as there is a specific unit of measurement and numerical properties. Also the difference between 2012 AD, 2013 AD is same as difference between 2013 AD and 2014 AD.
Apologies for the delay in answering your question

It all boils down to whether average rating as absolute zero or not.  If average rating has absolute zero then it has ratio scale of measurement else it won't be ratio scale of measurement.

If year is a numerical variable, then why can't date of week is a numerical variable?

Year can be numerical or categorical based on usage. If you are showing a trend of something over a range of years, that's categorical (ordinal ) behavior.
Apart from subtraction , can any mathematical operation be done on year ?
