Is it always the case that categorical values obtain either ordinal / nominal scale of measurement and numerical values obtain ratio / interval scale of measurement ?

Hi,
If a variable is categorical then it will have either nominal scale or ordinal scale and if the variable is numerical variable then it will have either interval or ratio scale.

sir please answer my query , since comments and feed back are unstructured data , they shall possess no category and hence if such a column ( Feedback)is present in the table , we  shall not count it as categorical ,right?

We never classify unstructured data into either of the variable types.
Classification of the variable is done on the basis of nature of informations that variable have and unstructured data do not contain any same nature within its values.

Serial numbers has a definite order within values, therefore it falls into ordinal scale of measurement.

Arent't serial number just like jersey number because they have no meaning of themselves alone?
so shouldn't it be nominal because moreover its nothing more than a tag
